25th August 2019

Over the last month a number of morning and afternoon teas have been held for the women of St Jude’s, to foster deeper relationships with one another and to encourage each other in our Christian lives. We have had around 50 women attend these, drawn from across our three congregations, so a big thank you goes to those who have hosted and attended. It has been wonderful to hear such positive reports from many who enjoyed meeting new people, reflecting on God’s work in their lives, and of course, eating delicious food!

While we hope to continue holding these smaller gatherings in the future, they have also been readying the way for a larger women’s event to be held in a few weeks. On Saturday 14th September a fabulous Women’s High Tea will be held in the Parish Room for all St Jude’s women, as well as any family and friends you might like to invite. This will again be an opportunity to connect with other women from our church community, while also considering what it means for us to delight in God, as Kat will be giving a short talk from Psalm 34. In this psalm, we are invited to ‘taste and see that the Lord is good’ and told that ‘those who seek the Lord lack no good thing’, but are these words too good to be true? Can we truly delight in God, in all the ups and downs of life? Come along as we consider these questions, and enjoy an afternoon of food and fellowship.
