Summoned By Bells
St Judes’ 150th anniversary publication, Summoned by Bells, is not an ordinary parish history. It explores the church’s history as a part of the history of Randwick and indeed Australia, linking it to social and political developments, wars, depressions, and notable personalities.
It is a beautifully produced glossy volume containing over 200 plates, some in colour and others in black and white. Anyone from browser to serious researcher will find this book to be both interesting and useful.
You can purchase a copy of the book by coming to the church office (the cost is $20).

A HISTORY OF ST JUDE’S CHURCH, RANDWICK 1865 -2015
About the Book
This book occupies a small place in the ongoing story of Christian belief and its body of believers. From its beginnings in 1855, with the establishment of the first St Jude’s Church, to the creation of a new church building in 1865, St Jude’s has played an important part in the lives of many thousands of people. The celebration of new life, the making of vows and forging of ties, the remembrance of life spent, the opportunity to play, to sing, and in the case of St Jude’s, to ring bells, is secondary to the nurturing of spiritual growth and understanding. For those who have entered and stayed awhile, St Jude’s Church has been a spiritual home and family and will continue to remain so for as long as people hold to the Christian faith.
