The St Jude’s Spring Fair is always a fun day, in the finest tradition of church fetes, with lots of fun for all ages. The petting zoo, horses and climbing wall will be back, as well as stalls, BBQ and much more. It is a great opportunity for us to extend a welcome to the community, who will hopefully have a positive experience at church. We pray that some might come on a Sunday because of this. Can I encourage you to pray for the Fair, to plan to be here, help on a stall, spend some money on jam, cake, craft or a sausage, and invite a friend!! The Fair is in four weeks’ time, on Saturday 9th November.
I’d also like to let you know that in three weeks’ time, on Sunday 3rd November, our church will take part in the National Church Life Survey. This is Australia’s leading church survey, which will gather valuable information for us about how we are doing as a church. It will slightly change the format of the service on that day, but it will help me and the Parish Council a lot as we plan for our future direction. I would very much appreciate your involvement.
In brief:
- Choral Evensong (using the traditional words of the Book of Common Prayer, with music led by our choir) is on today at 4.30 pm.
- Next Sunday 20th October, at 4.00 pm, our new Life Explored course starts up. More details on back page. Sign up in porch or Parish Room.
- Sunday 27th October is our Patronal Festival (St Jude’s Day), when we combine congregations for one special 10.30 am gathering followed by a BBQ lunch in the beautiful open space behind the church. There is a children’s program and church picnic games at lunch time. Please put your name down for catering purposes.
