Sunday 12th March

It is now full steam ahead to our Annual Vestry Meeting next Sunday.  This is the once-per-year business meeting for our parish.  All congregation members are entitled to attend.  The two main things which happen are the giving of reports about our ministry over the last year, and the election of Parish Councillors, Wardens, Parish Nominators, and (every three years) Synod Representatives. We always try to make the reports interesting and encouraging.

If you haven’t been to a Vestry Meeting before, can I encourage you to come along, as it is important for all of us to be engaged in stewarding the resources God has entrusted to us, for the advance of his Gospel and the glory of his Name.

In brief:

  • From today, you can sign up for our Women’s Brunch in two weeks’ time, on Saturday 25th March.
  • The book I was recommending last week, A Fresh Start, is now available at the bookstall in the Parish Room.
  • Evening Prayer is on again this Wednesday at 7.00 pm.  We will continue to decide from week to week whether to keep holding these services during Lent, depending on the response.

Yours,
Andrew Schmidt,
Rector
