Parish life under COVID has continued to be busy, albeit in a different way from the way it is without lockdowns. It has been wonderful to receive so many messages of appreciation for the ministry activities we have tried to during lockdown. While we are still not quite sure of the timing of a return to in-person church, it is pleasing to feel that that time is on its way – and that the new roof will be finished by then.
Meanwhile, we’re planning one more lockdown event, an online Organ Recital, which will be held on Saturday afternoon, 9th October. This will be streamed live on YouTube. Stay tuned for more details.
We are also planning to do Operation Christmas Child again – an opportunity to send a shoebox full of Christmas gifts to a needy child overseas. Again, details are on their way.
The School Holidays start this weekend. School children will be at home for a change! (OK, that was a lame joke.) This means that Youth, Sunday School and some of our online Bible study groups will be doing something different, and maybe having a week off sometime over the next two weeks (check leaders for details).
I am also having a week off with my family over the coming week (but not on Sundays). Rev. Andrew Goddard is teaching us from Titus chapters 2 and 3 today and next week.
Our Diocesan leaders have set up some briefings this coming week on re-opening church. This will help us to be able to announce some clear plans in the next few weeks.
