The big news I’d like to share with you today is that we have a new staff member joining the ministry team next year. Rev. Emma Little will be taking up the role of Women’s and Pastoral Care Minister. Emma has been involved in Christian ministry for many years, and most recently worked in a church in the Armidale Diocese. I think highly of her gospel heart and love of people, and am very grateful that God has sent her to St Jude’s. Her first Sunday with us will be in late January.
As well as this, we have a new student minister starting next year also. Edward Happer, who will be in his second year of studying at Moore College in 2022, will be ministering among us each Sunday. We have good reason to thank God for providing us with these servants to pastor, train and equip us to reach Randwick with the gospel. 2022 is going to be an exciting year.
The church roof project is officially complete. Please check out our video showing the roof’s progress since work commenced in July on our YouTube channel. Thank you to everyone who gave towards this splendid work. The next project for our restoration program covers the other two slate roofs in our precinct, namely the rectory and the church office building (Old Borough Chambers).
Great news! COVID restrictions relax further this week, which means that next Sunday we are able to sing in church without masks – just in time for Lessons and Carols in the evening.
It was delightful to see so many children performing the Christmas story for us at last week’s Christmas Pageant. A few pictures are included on the inside back cover.
Thank you to everyone who has been distributing our letterbox pamphlets! We are well on track to inviting 5000 households to join us for Christmas. Please take another bundle today.
Carols at St Jude’s (outdoors in the open space behind the church), is on today at 4 pm. Looking forward to seeing you here. Please come from 2 pm to help set up.
