11th October 2020

As you know if you’re a regular here, our vision is to fill the church with disciples of Jesus Christ, and I want you to know that the staff team and parish council are praying and working hard towards this. From late last year, we went through a workshop process which led to us identifying three focus areas of (i) Families and Young People; (ii) Welcoming and Integration; and (iii) Pastoral Care. Following that, we worked out that we needed to have some conversations with families and young people from our congregation and around Randwick, to find out how we can best welcome and settle them into our church community.

Those conversations are happening in the next few weeks. I’m inviting people to focus groups of 6-8 people. We will talk about the church’s image, what people think we’re aiming for, why someone would come, what people expect and hope for when trying out church, what they want for their kids in church, and how someone might become truly settled in church community. If you know someone who would like to come, please let me know. I would love to invite them.

Meanwhile, we have an energetic period of ministry coming up, with Playgroup, Kids’ Club, Youth and Bible study groups all back in action this week. In two weeks’ time, on Sunday 25th October, is our St Jude’s Day Spring Picnic after church. It’s a BYO picnic (COVID safe), with games for children. Please plan to come and RSVP to the church office.

During November we are running Simply Christianity on Sunday afternoons. This is a well known course which outlines the Christian faith in a relaxed and engaging way. How about inviting someone along?
