Carols at St Jude’s is now only one week away. It’s at 4 pm next Sunday, 13th December. We’ve been encouraged by the online registrations which indicate over 200 people are coming already. Please let Andrew Goddard know if you can help in any of the following ways:
I hope you will still be able to make it to morning church on that day, for our Sunday School prize giving and as we thank our children’s leaders and farewell Simon Sheely after his four years of ministry among us here at St Jude’s.
Our Christmas services will follow the usual program:
- Lessons and Carols at 7.30 pm on Sunday 20th
- Family Carols at 6 pm Christmas Eve
- Communion services 11 pm, 8 am and 9.30 am
We have produced an invitation card for distribution to letterboxes around the community. Please take a map, and enough 100-card bundles to cover your allocated area, deliver the cards and bring back any spares.
Last week I announced our plan to begin a new all-ages informal congregation in the afternoon, as of August 2021. This is an exciting initiative which very much needs God’s blessing. Could I ask you to keep this work in the front of your mind and be regularly bringing it before the Lord in prayer.
We want to be for any Christians in Randwick who have been without a church, for anyone in St Jude’s who feels called to it, and for new Christians! I dearly want to see people brought from death to life, and darkness to light, through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
In view of our Christmas outreach, of a new year coming, and of our plans under God for that new year, please pray our vision prayer.
Vision Prayer
Glorious God and Father, heaven and earth are full of your majesty. It is right for all people to praise you, and yet so many do not. In your grace, enlighten blind eyes, and pour your love into cold hearts by your Spirit. Show your power and mercy to our community, and fill this church with people to worship you in spirit and in truth; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
