21st June 2020

I am pleased to say that things are (slowly) beginning to return to normal after our COVID-19 shutdown.  There has been more activity at church during the last week than any week since late March.

On Monday, about 65 gathered in the church and a further 20 online to give thanks to God for the long life, full of service to others, of Dot Whitford.  It was a privilege for family and church friends to gather to remember her life and to hand over our grief to God, who is “the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort” (2 Cor. 1:3).  Even so, our community certainly is going to miss Dot.

We have also seen craft group, Thursday morning women’s Bible study, and the Friday Friendship group gathering this week.  Over the weekend, Equip women’s conference (Saturday) and Simply Christianity (Sunday afternoon) will also gather, as well as 6 pm Evening Service, which is now meeting in-person (but also streaming online).  It meets in the Parish Room, and is a different style from our morning services, but everyone is welcome.  If you’re itching for in-person gathering, please come along.  We haven’t looked like breaching the 30 person limit just yet!

Next Sunday, 28th June, we have one 10 am Morning Communion service, with Sunday School and Youth Bible Study, as a trial for our proper return in late July.  This can only be attended by pre-booking, so that we can guarantee a maximum of 50 people.  Please email the office if you would like to come.

Also, if you would like to help as a COVID safe person, please come to COVID safe training at 12 pm today (Sunday 21st June)!
