To the parishioners of St Jude’s
Helen and I are filled with a mixture of emotions. Gratitude, nostalgia, and a deep sense of fulfillment as I reflect on the 19 wonderful years I have spent serving this parish and the over 60 years I have dedicated to my ministry in the Anglican Church.
I want to express my heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you. To my fellow ministers and in particular Greg Job and Andrew Schmidt, it has been an honour and a privilege to work alongside you, to share in the joys and challenges of our calling, and to witness your unwavering dedication to spreading the love and teachings of our faith. Your guidance, wisdom, and support have been invaluable to me, and I am truly grateful for the bond we have forged over the years. In the same way Helen has appreciated and welcomed the friendship of both Catherine Job and Kathryn Schmidt.
To the parishioners, my dear friends and extended family, Helen and I cannot find the words to adequately convey our appreciation for your love, support, and faith in me. You have welcomed me into your lives, your homes, and your hearts, and together we have shared moments of joy, sorrow, growth, and faith. Your commitment to this community, your kindness, and your unwavering support have been a source of strength and inspiration for me, and I am eternally grateful for the privilege of serving you.
I count it a privilege that I have been able to share with Parishioners in times of joy and sadness. Throughout these situations they have shown a wonderful faith in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Paul when he spoke to the Ephesian Elders in Acts 20 spoke of serving the Lord both in word and deed. That is the aim of all true Christian people and that is what you have been doing and will continue to do so that the light of God’s love will continue to shine brightly in this Parish for years to come. And may you always find strength and solace in the fellowship of one another.
Helen and I thank you, from the bottom of our hearts for allowing us to be a part of your lives and your journey. I will cherish our time together always. God bless you all.
Jim and Helen
