10th October 2021 – 28th Ordinary Sunday

As announced last week, weekly in-person gatherings resume on Sunday 7th November at 9 am and 4pm. Assuming that everything goes well, we will return to two morning services (8 am and 10 am) from the beginning of December. Watch this space for announcements about when other activities such as choir practice, Kids’ Club, craft group, playgroup and ESL will be able to resume.

Given the new Premier’s fast-tracking of the opening up of NSW, I expect that there is a lot we will be allowed to do. However, we should also be praying for the opening up of the whole state to take place safely, without an unmanageable spike in infections.

It has been a week for new people in political office. Randwick also has a new mayor, Cr. Dylan Parker. We will pray for him in our service, as well as for Dominic Perottet.

The roof restoration is proceeding well, with the top roof complete, and the northern side of the lower roof very nearly complete. The southern side (near the rectory) is the main focus of attention now. It will be splendid to have this all done in time for in-person church resuming.

I realise there will be some who may not be ready to return to church straight away (and we will continue with the online option for morning service at least). However, I do want our first service back to be an exciting and uplifting occasion. So if you know congregation members who have not been joining us online, please spread the word about November the 7th!
