NEWS AT ST. JUDES
The SRE CHALLENGE IN OUR PUBLIC SCHOOLS
The current public and political debate has raised concerns about both the Ethics course proposed by the St James Ethic Centre and the future of SRE (Special Religious Education) within our public school system. At the heart of the SRE debate is the fundamental relationship between 'religion' and 'ethics'. To understand more or to offer your support in different ways please visit www.SREonTrial.com.au. St Jude's has enjoyed a good relationship with Randwick School over many many years and it is a privilege for us to teach children about God's love for them through the Bible.
FIREWORKS AGAIN @ ST JUDE'S!
Saturday evening saw many from the St Jude's Precinct come together once again for the annual Sausage Sizzle and Fireworks Display. There was a strong sense of community with families from the Child Care Centre (some of whom have had their children baptised here), Randwick School and other families and friends from the area. The Friends of St Jude's organised the wonderful evening and the elements were very kind to us! We look forward to linking more occasions as these.
CHILD CARE AND PARISH ROOM
The developments works of the Child care Centre in the old Parish (School) Hall, the building of a new Parish Room connected to the Parish Centre and a new car park is now working well.
The work has been carried out to a high standard, thanks to the effort of the builders Structum Pty Ltd and the Architects Woodhouse and Danks.
The new Parish Room is a wonderful space and has been used well for a number of functions associated with the church.
Access to the Car Park is through a boom gate activated by automatic buttons or through an intercom to the Parish Office or the Child Care Centre.
The Child Care Centre has been set up to run as a high quality Community Centre for the needs of the Community. Places are keenly sought and a great staff has been gathered together. Child Care Centre 9326 6234
