Sundays @ St Jude’s

At St Jude’s, we see ourselves as partners with parents in helping children learn about the love of Jesus and coming to know God. Our greatest hope for your children, though is not just that they will know about God and follow Jesus, but that they become engaged and participating members of the Christian community.

Sunday School

Our Sunday School (during the school term) runs in conjunction with the 9.30am Church Service. Children learn about God and his amazing love for them through music, story, drama, discussion and craft. The curriculum is arts and lectionary-based and well suited to the variety of ages 5-12 years. The children enter church and join their families for a blessing in the last part of the service.

Please register for Sunday School in the Child Care Centre (adjacent to the Parish Room) before 9.30am.
Parents are welcome to stay particularly to settle your child in the early stages.

A Creche (0-3 yrs) is set up on the first Sunday of each month at 9.30 in the Parish Room.
There is a small space available at other times at the back of the church.

Teenagers with lots of questions exploring their faith in a safe environment is vital to their on-going relationship with God, their sense of self and their place in the world. They meet for Bible discussion in the Parish Centre.

Other family activities with the wider church community include:
* Playgroup held in Parish Room (every Tuesday 9.30am-11.30 during term)
* The Christmas Play
* ‘Helping Hands‘ Mission Bake Sunday (funds raised to the Bible Society)  (see photos below)
* Occasional craft & movie mornings
* Baking morning tea and serving to parishioners
* Picnics and games in the church grounds
* Easter Egg Hunt
* Fireworks & BBQ (see full details under church activities)

The Christmas Nativity (photo below)
The children and youth gathered with the Congregation and Choir for the Christmas Pageant under the direction of Rev Jim & Jeanette Cosgrove. Padre Jim, an Army Chaplain has over 30 years experience writing liturgies and music for young people. The pageant was a great celebration of the birth of Jesus emulated  through readings, role plays and songs written to the tunes of well known Christmas carols.

We look forward to you being a part of the St Jude’s commuity.
