Church Groups
St Jude's invites you to join one or more of these groups involved in Church and community activities. You are all welcome and are encouraged to contact anyone listed below for more information to either give your support or to become a member.
Bell Ringers
The Bellringers ring the bells from 9am to 9.30am each Sunday morning, and for weddings, funerals and other special occasions. They practice the art of English change-ringing, which is an interesting hobby that helps develop concentration and coordination. Each time they ring, a team of up to eight people are involved. The heaviest bell at St. Jude's weighs about three-quarters of a tonne. If you would like to find more about bell ringing or interested in joining the bell ringers for an hour each week on Tuesday evenings.
Bible Study
A Woman's "Know Your Bible" (KYB) Bible Study meets every second week on a Monday evening. Contact Jacqui Guy 9665 7212

Carers Group
The Carers and those being cared for, meet together monthly on a Friday morning for tea in the Parish Room. The Group functions as a practical support group to Parish members and an outreach group to others in the surrounding community and also a personal strengthening group to its members.
Holy Communion is held on the third Friday of each month at 11am.

Child Care Centre
St Jude's has a Long Day Care Centre for 59 children Monday to Friday - 2-5 year olds. Phone 9326 6234. Director Farah Messina.
Choir and Music
St. Jude's Church has maintained a very fine musical tradition and to this day music plays an important part in the weekly Sung Eucharist. The Choir became a member of the world wide RSCM (Royal School of Church Music) in 1952. The Choir sings each Sunday at the 9.30am Sung Eucharist and is also asked to sing at weddings, funerals, choir festivals and occasional social functions. Choir practice is at 7.30pm each Thursday. Confirmation
Held annually – classes beforehand.
Any person desiring Confirmation please contact the Rector Greg or Rev John. Adults are welcome for Baptism or Confirmation.
The Craft Group
The Craft Group meets each Wednesday morning from 10.30am. The Group functions as an interest and support group and is active in providing craft for sale at the Annual Fair, and other stalls are held throughout the year. Please phone Dorothy Cohen on 9398 3955 for further information.
Crèche
The Crèche looks after children (0-3 years) in the Child Care Centre during the 9.30am Service. For further information please contact Amanda Wharton.
English Classes (ESL)
The English classes meet on Thursday mornings, 9.30am to 12 noon in the Parish Room during the term. The course is held three times a year and each course is for ten weeks. For information please call Church Office.
Flower Group
St Jude's has a long history of flower arranging in the Church for all Services and for special occasions. A dedicated roster of people work usually on Saturday mornings.
Friends of St Jude's
The "Friends" have a few hundred on its mailing list. The Committee organizes functions during the year including the Annual Friend's Dinner, entertainment nights and picnics outside the local area. A Gazette is distributed three times a year.
Men's Group
The Men's Group meets on the 1st Thursday of each month for lunch. David Cohen on 9398 3955
A “Bloke’s Breakfast” is being held some Saturday mornings.
Nursing Home and Hospital Visitors
Volunteers from St Jude's visit The Chesalon Nursing Home weekly and provide Morning Teas for the Residents. - See Catherine Job
There is an also an opportunity to train and provide regular visits to Prince of Wales Hospital patients under the guidance of Hospital Chaplains. For further information please call the Chaplains at the Prince of Wales Hospital on 9382 2222.
Parish Council
The Parish Council meet on the third Tuesday of every month to discuss with the Rector matters dealing with the Church and grounds. Members are elected every March at the Annual Vestry Meeting.
This year, the following parishioners were elected: Alan Clark (Rector's Warden & Treasurer), Diane Hill (Warden and Secretary), Michael Job, Ian Knox,Rob Koczkar, Carol Lamerton, Sandy Langford, Dr Fred Orr, Ron Salkeld, Philippa Skuja (Warden).
Parenting Workshops
Regularly conducted on various aspects of Parenting - with help from 'Triple P' - (Health Department NSW). Contact Amanda Wharton.
Readers
Bible Readers work on a roster basis for the 8am, 9.30am and 6.30pm Sunday Services. For further information contact Greg Job.
Scripture Teachers
Many Scripture teachers and helpers take Anglican classes at Randwick Primary School each week. For further information please contact Amanda Wharton.
Servers Guild
Servers assist in Church services assisting the Clergy with Holy Communion and leading processions. Young people when Confirmed often enjoy this participation in the Services.
Sides Persons
These people assist at the church services by distributing the books and service sheets to the congregation and by collecting the offertories during the Service. Please contact Michael Mortimer.
Social Auxiliary
The Social Auxiliary meets roughly four times per year to arrange garage sales and the Annual Fair in November. They are a great fund raiser for the Church.
Sunday School
Sunday School commences at 9.30am each Sunday in the Child Care Centre adjacent to the Parish - except in school holidays. Children aged from 4 years to Year 6 are welcome to join the St Jude's Sunday School.
Women's Fellowship
Women's Fellowship meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 2pm in the Parish Room. A short business meeting is then usually followed by a speaker on a topic of interest. The Fellowship functions as a support and friendship group. For further information contact Catherine Job.
Working Bee
The Working Bee is held on the first Saturday of each month. Parishioners are encouraged to participate in maintaining the Church and Cemetery grounds, mowing, weeding and general tidying up. Your support is gladly welcomed from 8.30am.
