What's happening at St Jude's?

St Jude's is a place for families to know God's love in community through Worship, friendship and practical care to one another

Lent is a season of preparation for action. It is a challenging time if we are to take seriously our commitment to the Lord Jesus.

The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle, depicts the natural order and process of life through the seasons. However, as the tiny seed grew naturally into a beautiful flower – it almost missed the value placed upon it, in its preoccupation with what it didn’t have.

This timeless children's story told in our Family Service with its themes of recognition, pressure, the notion of suffering and the gift of newness - resonates with young and old alike. We know what it is to feel worthless, to withstand pressure and to face the pain of letting go. Equally we know the joy of something new and glorious - far beyond what we could have imagined.

Just as the leaves will fall from the trees in Autumn so we can use the time leading up to Easter to decide what is it - we need to let go of - in order to grow more like Jesus.

Suggested Bible Reading from the story
Matthew 13:31-32 (Parable of the Mustard Seed)
Jesus used this story to teach about the Kingdom of God.

The FAMILY SERVICE is a great opportunity to introduce little children to church. Services are held in the children's chapel of the main church every Sunday at 11am and very user-friendly.

Baptisms are held on the first Sunday of the month.

"Good families - even great families - are off track 90 percent of the time!
